HOW TO USE FLUOCINOLONE

Use fluocinolone exactly as directed. Do not use it more often or use more or less of it or than prescribed by your physician.
Do not apply fluocinolone to other areas of your body. Unless your doctor instructs you to, do not bandage or wrap the treated area .
Unless doing so irritates your skin, thoroughly soak or wash the affected area before applying fluocinolone. Apply sparingly in a thin film. Gently rub it in.
Use the shampoo as you would any normal shampoo. Wet hair and scalp. Apply the shampoo. Gently massage scalp. Thoroughly rinse with water.
To use on your scalp, part hair at the affected area, apply a small amount and rub it in gently. Protect that area from rubbing until the medicine dries. Your may wash your hair as usual but not right after applying fluocinolone.
Avoid prolonged use on your face, in armpits and skin creases and in the genital and rectal areas, unless directed by your doctor.
If you are using fluocinolone on your face, avoid getting it in your eyes.
If you are using fluocinolone on a baby's diaper area, do not use plastic pants or tight-fitting diapers. They may increase side effects.
Unless your physician approves, do not apply cosmetics or any other skin preparations on the treated area
If you are instructed to wrap or bandage the treated area, do the this:
Consult with your doctor if the treated area becomes worse or if swelling, redness, burning, or oozing of pus develops.
Do not abruptly stop treatment without discussing it with your doctor.
Before using fluocinolone, tell your doctor:

Let your doctor know if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant. If you become pregnant while using fluocinolone, call your doctor immediately.
FLUOCINOLONE and BREAST FEEDING
Tell your doctor if you are breast-feeding.
If you forget to apply a dose, apply it as soon as it is remembered, unless it is almost time for the next dose. If so, skip the missed dose and continue your regular dosing schedule. Do not apply a twice as much medicine to make up for a missed dose.
FLUOCINOLONE SIDE EFFECTS
Fluocinolone side effects are uncommon, but they can occur. Tell your doctor if any of the following side effects are severe or do not go away:
If any of the following symptoms occur, call your doctor immediately:
Keep all your appointments with your physician.
Do not let anyone else use your fluocinolone medication.
Ask your pharmacist any questions you have about refilling your prescription.
Keep fluocinolone in the original container, tightly closed, out of reach of children.
Store it at room temperature, away from excessive heat. Do not allow it to become frozen.
Discard any medication that is outdated or no longer needed. Do not use fluocinolone to treat a different skin condition. Talk to your pharmacist about how to properly disposal of fluocinolone.
