Take Nexium capsules by mouth. Follow the directions on the prescription label. Swallow the capsules whole with a glass of water. Do not crush, break or chew them. Nexium works best if taken on an empty stomach at least one hour before eating a meal. Take at regular intervals. Do not take Nexium more often than directed.

NEXIUM SIDE EFFECTS

Report these Nexium side effects to your health care professional as soon as possible:

• fatigue
• pain or tightness in chest
• shortness of breath
• skin rash
• urine dark yellow or brown

These these Nexium side affects do not usually requite medical attention. However, report them to your health care professional if they continue or are bothersome:

• flatulence (gas)
• constipation
• diarrhea
• dry mouth
• headache
• nausea/vomiting

NEXIUM NOTES

It can take several days of Nexium use before your stomach pains improve. Check with your health care professional if your condition does not improve after several days or if it gets worse. You may also take antacids for the occasional relief of pain unless your health care professional advises you otherwise.
